A current and full motor vehicle driver's licence is required. If the driver's licence is not in the English language then an international driver's licence is also recommended. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.

The driver's licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental. The original driver's licence must be shown at the time of pick-up when the driver is present.

Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. For drivers 75 years of age or over, a current medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle pick-up.

Cheapa Campa offers discounts for long term motorhome and campervan rentals, starting from 21 days. Cheapa Campa also offers discounts on multiple Cheapa Campa motorhome vehicle hires from any of our branches worldwide.

Cheapa Campa supplies a complimentary Welcome Pack for your first night. The pack contains matches, dishwashing liquid, sponge, salt and pepper, coffee, tea and sugar sachets. Vehicles are also provided with complimentary maps, camp ground guides and the Apollo Motorhome Holidays Magazine.

We strongly recommend you bring soft bags instead of suitcases for your luggage. Soft bags take up less room and fit more easily into the storage cupboards and lockers in the vehicle. Luggage storage is also available at all motorhome branches for return hires only.

The minimum rental period for all campervans and motorhomes is 7 days. Increased minimum rental periods apply at peak times. Shorter rentals are available at special rates.

Cheapa Campa provides 24 hour roadside assistance for your peace of mind. Please call Cheapa Campa's toll free number at any time and speak to the fleet department in the unlikely event of a breakdown or accident.

Cheapa Campa recommends staying at designated camp grounds where you can enjoy the facilities and feel secure in a like-minded camping community. Cheapa Campa customers enjoy discounts with many of the major camping parks. Simply ask a friendly Cheapa Campa staff member for more information.

All Cheapa Campa hires require a bond at the point of vehicle pick up. The base bond payment is $5000 which can be reduced to as little as $250 depending on the Liability Reduction Option that the customer selects. Please ask a friendly member of staff for more information on the Liability Reduction Options prior to your hire.

Vehicle pick up times can vary but allow for at least an hour to complete the whole procedure. This is an important time for you to become familiar with the vehicle and includes the check-in, a vehicle inspection report and a vehicle show through to demonstrate the features of the vehicle and how to get the most out of your self-drive holiday.

• Familiarise yourself with the relocation Terms and Conditions
• Confirm that you have held an open licence for 2 years, and are over 21 years of age

Please also remember that you will need to pay a bond on vehicle pick-up, so you must have sufficient funds on your credit card.

Hippie relocation specials are made available as a result of Hippie's rental requirements. Therefore, we cannot offer any special not posted on our relocation page.

Hippie offers a certain number of days and free kilometres at the heavily discounted relocation rate. The number of days and kilometres are determined by the route you are travelling. Subject to availability, you may be able to hire the vehicle for additional days at a higher rate. Extra kilometres driven are charged at a low per km rate on vehicle return. Hippie does not provide Airport transfers for relocation offers, so please make sure you have made transport arrangements to and from the airport. Most airports provide a taxi rank where you can access cabs to take you to our rental office.
